Cabinet Painting & Refinishing
Kitchen remodeling can get quite expensive most importantly, REALLY quickly , and can take more than the allotted time due to unforeseen reasons . Cabinet painting and refinishing Is an alternative for those not only wanting to change the look of their cabinets , but also for those not wanting to spend ridiculous amounts of money for full remodels having construction going on for weeks on in. The benefits to choosing cabinet painting over a full blown remodel:
The process can be done in less time.
- You can keep the layout of your existing kitchen.
- Old becomes new for a fraction of the cost.
Cabinet Painting Process
- Firstly,Clean & De-grease cabinets.
- Secondly,Remove doors and scuff sand current finish .
- Thirdly, Prime cabinets.
- Next,Apply 2 top coats (of your choosing , any color and sheen)
- Finally, Replace doors & drawers and add new hardware if you'd like ( new hardware is an additional cost)
Cabinets could be brushed/rolled or have a sprayed finish .However, I prefer the latter . Either way the finish will be of high quality to marvel over. Spraying cabinets gives a factory finish and is a quicker way of completing the project with the right systems and setups. Cost to Refinish Kitchen cabinets?
The price varies from service provider to another. My typical price is $100 per opening (drawer & Door). So lets say for example your cabinets have 4 doors and 2 drawers . That equals to 6 openings which would cost $600 labor and materials . More in depth check out this article
