To Paint Or To Stain?
Choosing between paint and stain is a general question we get quite frequently . A general rule of thumb is when choosing, Knowing what all surfaces can be applied to will give you a nudge forward in your decision.
Lets talk stain . Stain ONLY works on wood surfaces. Common objects that could be stained would be

- Paint is thicker than stain
- Paint gives you more colors and sheens to choose from
- You can paint over previously painted surfaces (after preparation) whereas you cannot use stain over paint
Stain keeps the wood look because it penetrates into the wood rather than covering the top surface like paint . Paint is prone to peeling, cracking , and chipping; Vs Stain being more resistant to those defects. Wood surfaces are enhanced, rather than covered up, by stain. Stains give a more rugged feel perfect if you’re going for an all natural effect.
