Removing The damaged post
Firstly Begin by digging around the post to see how far the concrete footings are. If done properly they would be filled to the top of the surface. You may be digging for a while but you'll get there . Dig a semi- circle around the pier. The fence post should be buried at least 24 inches and filled with concrete .
Tools To Break up The concrete Footing
Next you have to break up the concrete footing. This is where your trusty hammer comes into play. Without breaking up the concrete enough it'll make the next step (removing the post) that much harder . Trying to remove the fence post with the concrete footings still in tack will be a task: It's very heavy , hence that it is attached to concrete. Not being able to pull out by hand requires specialized tools like a post jack and other makeshift gadgets. You Also could use a Mason chisel .
Remove old materials & Set new post
Set a post in hole . Use 1 bag of concrete pour it in the hole with the post in and fill with water. You can use any kind but for a quicker set time you want to use a quick setting mix . use your level and make sure the post is straight. With quick setting concrete you could put the fence panels back on within 3-4 hours. With regular setting concrete you'd need to wait overnight.
